This phycological thriller will keep you guessing until the end. When Jess needs a place to stay and sort out her life, her half-brother, Ben, says she can stay with him. When Jess arrives, he is nowhere to be found. Where is Ben, and how can he afford to live in this beautiful Paris apartment? Everyone in the building knew who Ben was, but no one knew where he went, and as she got to know the neighbours, she began to realize they all had something to hide.

I won’t lie; the reason this book has a lower rating is that it took about eight chapters for me to be invested in the story and the characters. I find that is usually the make-it-or-break-it spot in books, and this one pulled it together around there.

I also found it hard to follow the storyline with the POV flipping between six different characters. I think that sometimes two-three is too much, depending on the plot, and I believe this contributed to why I found it harder to get into. The only time I found it very useful for flipping between so many different POVs was when they were trying to describe the same scene from different POVs and would have the previous person’s encounter described from the next person’s POV. However, this still was hard to follow at times when they changed the timeline throughout the story.

I enjoyed the twist and the ending. With so many different characters that all had their own version and story, it tied together nicely. My favourite part was how the signs became more evident when Jess discovered a key factor of the relationships in the building.

Overall, this was a good book, and I have recommended it.

I give this book 3/5.
